Gilead Project sponsors the Uncommon Conversation to gather individuals, organizations and faith communities for healing sexual abuse and abuses of power that harm. Uncommon Conversation is a process that models how members of the community can listen and speak of the pain and harm experienced due to clergy sexual abuse. Uncommon Conversation is based in restorative justice principles of compassion, respect and accountability. The goal is to restore right relationship and build trust. Our film, “Uncommon Conversation” records and preserves perspectives and experiences of several persons involved in the Catholic sex abuse crisis.

Members of the panel are: Phil Saviano, Shari Steffen, Catherine Lally, Gil Gustafson, Chris Furlong, Luke Hansen, SJ, and Susan Pavlak.

Uncommon Conversation was filmed by The Gilead Project and Emergence Pictures with Blue Moon Productions in St. Paul, Minnesota July 6-7, 2019.
